A SCIENCE LESSON ON WIND AND ITS ABILITY TO BLOW πŸ’¨ OBJECTS OF DIFFERENT WEIGHTS AND SIZES

This past week we learned about wind πŸ’¨, and the kids and I really enjoyed making kites πŸͺ (using card stock and ribbon) and later placing them in front of a fan to see if the wind it created could blow it. Other objects we tested included cotton balls, leaves πŸƒ , a mini football 🏈, and a roll of masking tape. Concepts such as β€œlight” and β€œheavy” were discussed, and they quickly learned that if something was too heavy, it would fall to the ground (because the wind created by the fan was not strong πŸ’ͺ🏼 enough to blow it). Not sure they grasped that last part as 3-year-olds, but it was still a fun and valuable science lesson. The excitement this activity created was something I couldn’t have possibly anticipated. If you have an indoor or outdoor fan in your home, I highly recommend this activity.
