TOY TᑌᗴᔕᗪᗩY – BALL RUN

🧩 A few of us over at #adaptmyplay are getting together every week to show parents different interpretations of play using common toys.

🪁 Our goal is to get you brainstorming how to adapt these toys for your own little one, depending on their level of ability, interest, and learning goals!

🚂 If you don’t own this common toy, no need to purchase it, because some of us give options on how to improvise by using what you already have at your disposal.

🧸 A different toy will be featured every week for TOY TᑌᗴᔕᗪᗩY. This week’s toy is BALL RUN.

We don’t happen to have any ball run toys, and I’m not the most crafty mom the world has ever known. My main advantage? I know how to use my resources! 🙌🏻 That having been said, @dollartree ping pong balls, toilet paper rolls, painter’s tape, and our @officiallittletikes slide came in handy for our DIY ball run yesterday.

Originally, we thought the ping pong balls would be small enough to go THROUGH the holes on the toilet paper rolls. Unless you want to turn it into a science experiment, let me save you some time; they’re too big. They worked well for the ball run path that ran through the middle of the slide, but to get anything through the tubes, we needed something smaller. A toy car did the trick, and it was fun trying different objects and discovering new paths.

Funny enough, because we’ve built or created enough stuff together at this point, B asked me, “do you think the balls will go fast or slow?” She said she thought “fast.” Look at my little coming up with her own hypothesis years before it’ll be required in school! 😍 Proud Mama moment.
