This past week we learned about wind π¨, and the kids and I really enjoyed making kites πͺ (using card stock and ribbon) and later placing them in front of a fan to see if the wind it created could blow it. Other objects we tested included cotton balls, leaves π , a mini football π, and a roll of masking tape. Concepts such as βlightβ and βheavyβ were discussed, and they quickly learned that if something was too heavy, it would fall to the ground (because the wind created by the fan was not strong πͺπΌ enough to blow it). Not sure they grasped that last part as 3-year-olds, but it was still a fun and valuable science lesson. The excitement this activity created was something I couldnβt have possibly anticipated. If you have an indoor or outdoor fan in your home, I highly recommend this activity.
