Here’s yet another low prep activity for a busy day. All I did was draw the string lights outline with a marker and offered B a pile of buttons. Suddenly she was placing her @pawpatrol pups on the table (we have a new obsession) and sorting the buttons to share with her “friends” based on the color of their clothes. She actually extended my activity, and I was so proud. 🤗
The rest involved glue, fine motor fun, and social-emotional skills every time she asked one of the Paw Patrols if she could use their button (we’re HUGE on pretend play around here). We also discussed math concepts such as small, medium, and large and compared smaller vs. larger buttons. It seems she’s getting quite good at deciphering different shades of a primary color, and it became most clear to me through this activity. An unexpected but welcome surprise. 👏🏻
Note: These took a long time to dry and would work best on card stock, but we loved how they turned out.
