Cc is a new letter for us and since you all already know paper 📝 and pencil aren’t my thing, here you go. 😉
Make the desired letter using tape and place a cotton ball on one end, which you could refer to as “the starting line.” The goal is to blow 💨 the cotton ball all the way to the other end, or “the finish line” 🏁 using the straw. Can you tell we learned about “wind” today? 😉
Blowing may actually be harder for the littles than it looks, so be prepared to get spit on…a lot 🗣🙅🏻♀️(you think I’m kidding 🤣). Need to modify it? Take a page from H’s book. He creatively and independently decided using cotton balls to cover/trace the letter Cc was so much better, so have plenty on hand. It may not have been a race, but it still counted as learning through doing, and we got a few good laughs out of it. 🤪 Now excuse me while I go take a bath. 🚿 🧼
MATERIALS:
• Straw
• Masking or painter’s tape
• Cotton balls
• A tiny set of lungs 💨
• A sense of humor 🤪
• Possibly a Hazmat suit 😷
TEACHER TIP 💡: Depending on the letter, ask them if the lines used to make it are “straight” or “curvy.” You’ll be helping them think 🤔 about a math concept while working on literacy and pre-writing skills. 🏆
