Hh IS FOR HALLOWEEN, Bb IS FOR BOO!

So @moorethanhappy blew my mind this morning as she pointed out that since we’re working on letters Bb and Hh, we may as well incorporate some Halloween activities, especially because Bb in for “boo” and Hh is for “Halloween.” 🤯 Have I mentioned how much easier it is when you work as a team? Bouncing ideas off one another is SO helpful. She was absolutely right and the kids LOVED this activity that she prepared for them.

MATERIALS:
• Construction paper
• Cotton balls
• Glue
• Black marker (for drawing the 👻 ‘s face)
• Scissors ✂️ for cutting out the ghosts

You’ll notice that we purposely placed all the cotton balls in the middle of the table instead of giving them each their own pile. Could it have led to some fighting? Sure, but then they’d miss out on the opportunity to use their words to request, problem solve, and learn how to share. When you’re a teacher or a therapist, almost nothing is done on accident, and although you may not be either of those things, you have me; I’m happy to help you learn.

Other opportunities that we capitalized on were talking about how the cotton balls felt, how to independently use a glue stick (because if your child is like my B, they’ll just want to keep seeing it go up until the glue falls out), and pulling apart the cotton balls to make the ghost look 👀 more “fluffy.”

After we were done, we played some Halloween music and had a dance party. Not a bad way to end a school day. 😉
