WASHING OFF THE GERMS: JELLO RESCUE AND TOY BATH STATION

This week we’ve been learning about how to keep our bodies safe, and that includes washing off the germs. So, why not create a sensory and fine motor skills activity around a life skill they’re familiar with: taking a bath? 🛁

Please make sure you do this outdoors 🌴 if you decide to reproduce it. It’s a ton of fun, but also messy. The children will very likely need a change of clothes, 👕👖 so plan for it. ✅

MATERIALS:
• Knox gelatin (but any brand will do)
• Multiple containers
• Towels for drying
• Tear-free soap
• Water
• Plastic “friends” to rescue
• Tongs or fine motor tools

First, we hardened clear gelatin over night with some “friends” mixed in to “rescue.” Then we filled one container with soapy water 🧼 💦, another with fresh 💦 water, and offered the children towels to dry all their “friends” off at the end. They loved it! 💜

The activity was self-explanatory and didn’t require a ton of structure, so if you need an excuse to sit for 30+ minutes ⏰ while you watch the kids play, this is it.
