PUMPKIN πŸŽƒ CARVING – AN UNEXPECTED LESSON IN DEVELOPING FOOD ALLERGIES AS AN ADULT πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

When I was teaching Kindergarten in my early 20s, I found myself elbow deep while carving a pumpkin with my littles. I loved every minute of it; my skin did not. πŸ™…πŸ»β€β™€οΈ I broke out in a rash everywhere the pumpkin enzymes had touched my skin. I can eat and drink pumpkin flavored foods, I can carry a pumpkin, but the inside and I do not get along. Weird, I know. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

That having been said, I didn’t want this set of little loves to miss out because of my apparent adult onset allergy, so @mrleosantos made a surprise appearance at school and turned pumpkins into jack-o-lanterns πŸŽƒ with them instead. I resisted every urge to play with the ewey gooies while I took a back seat for a change. That part about it taking a village…yeah, they were not kidding.

Anyone else have a crazy food allergy story to share? I can’t possibly be alone out there.

And most importantly, HAPPY HALLOWEEN! πŸ‘» πŸŽƒ
