THE SNEAKY, SNACKY SQUIRREL GAME!

Back when I was an SLP at a PPEC sharing a room with @janet_ortiz18 , she introduced me to this great game by @educationalinsights (no, this is not an ad). It works for SLPs, it works for early childhood teachers, and it works for any parent able and willing to sit down and enjoy their child’s company a little differently for at least 10 minutes.

This developmentally appropriate game works on language, math, fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, problem solving, turn-taking, and good sportsmanship. Yep, you heard right. There are so many reasons why I love this game, but none more so than because every child I have ever played it with has asked to play it again and again.

🐿 Number of players: 2-4
🐿 Object of the game: take turns spinning the wheel and try to be the first to fill your log with acorns. Just be careful, because the sneaky squirrel can come steal the acorn of their choice, the wind can blow away all of your acorns, and you may have to skip a turn if you land on the sad squirrel.

If you’ve ever played it, I’d love to hear about your experience.
